ICD has begun cooperation with another prestigious USA-based university, providing security consultation services for a new “portal” campus in the Pudong District of Shanghai, China. ICD will deliver security system design consultation, security standards localization support, consultation during the system implementation stage and security training after implementation has been completed.
The university is the latest higher education institution to choose ICD as their security partner for a satellite campus in Mainland China; last year ICD was chosen by another USA university for a similar campus project in Kunshan, China.
“We are delighted to support yet another top tier university with their efforts to establish a local presence in China”, remarked Alan Leung, head of ICD’s Consulting Services division. “The security standards of higher education institutions in the West are typically a lot stricter than universities in China, so they need to make sure these standards are implemented properly on their local campuses as well.
“One of the major challenges of organizations like this is to persuade the market that students can receive the same education experience in China at these new campuses that they would get if they studied in the United States. This applies not only to the quality of the teaching, but also to the environment that the students study in. It’s therefore essential that these new campuses are as safe and secure as their counterparts in the United States.
"We are incredibly excited about this new engagement and look forward to helping our client to make their Shanghai campus secure for their staff and students.”
