ICD assisted a major brokerage firm based in Beijing to implement access control, video surveillance and alarm systems for their new offices. The offices consist of 4 floors in the Pangu Tower, Beijing.
Why ICD was chosen
ICD was chosen to lead the project because of our experience working with other clients in the financial industry in this region. It was crucial for the client that their security systems adhered to the requirements of the local regulations for entities providing financial services and ICD’s previous experience helping other companies to achieve full compliance with these regulations was therefore a source of considerable value to the client.
ICD designed and implemented a hybrid access control system that combined both online and offline systems. The online system provided by HID was installed on each of the main entrances to the client’s premises including emergency exits, and the remaining doors were fitted with a wireless access control system provided by Simonsvoss. The advantage of combining these two systems was that the majority of the access control points in the office could be installed very quickly due to the low infrastructure requirements of wireless locks, while entrance and entry to the site premises could still be monitored effectively through the online system.
ICD helped the client to configure multiple access levels to ensure that sensitive areas, including the entrances to the offices of each of the clients business units, as well as the offices of the executive staff, the trading rooms, the filing room and the IT room.
Video surveillance of the premises is provided by 61 IP-base megapixel cameras from Arecont vision, including a 180 degree camera for the lobby area. The surveillance system provides complete monitoring coverage of the premises, with no blind sports in any of the sensitive business areas and retains uncompressed video footage for up to 90 days, thereby ensuring full compliance with the relevant security regulations concerning companies providing financial services. All video footage is managed via Aimetis’ industry leading video management system and the security staff can monitor all footage directly in the onsite security control room, which was fitted with 6 LED monitors. Each of the sensitive areas were also fitted with an alarm system provided by Bosch to ensure instant notification of any unauthorized activity.
The client was provided with a cost effective security system that was convenient to implement and fully aligned with both the security regulations of the local authorities and their own security requirements. In addition to helping the client with implementing their security system, ICD currently provides security maintenance services minimal system downtime and ensure that the client achieves a maximum return on their investment for the security solution for this site.
