One of the world’s largest oilfield services providers chose ICD to lead the implementation of security systems for sites throughout the APAC region, including sites in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Pakistan and Dubai. ICD had previously helped the client to implement several projects in Mainland China, after which the client recognized the benefits of ICD’s experience and focus on security services for sites in the APAC region.



While the client had established partnerships with local systems integrators in multiple regions, their global security team concluded that it would be more effective to work with a single trustworthy service provider capable of coordinating projects in each region simultaneously. They also realized the need for a single point of contact for the staff’s global security team to communicate with on all regional site security issues. The client also required a service provider that was experienced in implementing Lenel-based security management systems, which were used as the security standard for the client’s sites throughout the region.


Solution Proposed

ICD provided the client with a project team consisting of an international project manager based in Singapore, experienced engineers certified in Lenel’s SMS platform and an extensive network of local service providers based in each region requiring implementation services. The international project manager acts as the single point of contact for both the client’s US-based global security team and for their APAC regional security team, based in Dubai. For each project, ICD’s project team conducts a site survey and prepares a report for the client. Once all issues have been addressed, we help the client to prepare the security budget for the site, followed by project kick-off by the local system integration service provider.


During implementation, ICD conducts full inspections following the completion of each project stage, including cabling installation, equipment installation and system configuration. This ensures that every implemented system conforms to the client’s global design and installation standards, whether the project is for a new site or is retrofitted.After each project is completed, ICD works with local service providers in each region to provide comprehensive system maintenance plans for each of the 9 sites. Maintenance services consist of service call response and routine preventative maintenance, delivered by both ICD’s technical support staff in Singapore and by local partners in each region.




Our centrally coordinated system implementation and maintenance services, have played a key role in the smooth roll-out of the client’s security strategy for the APAC region. Sites in each country are now fitted with security systems that conform to a unified set of security standards and a consistent standard of installation quality. This will facilitate the client’s future plans to establish a dedicated regional server that allows their APAC security team to manage and monitor site security from a central location.ICD’s team in Singapore continues to support the client with ongoing projects in countries throughout the APAC region.
